Dr. Goh Chong Chia is a registered architect in Singapore, Malaysia, and ASEAN, with an illustrious career in practice since 1972. He belongs to a generation that holds the belief that an architect's responsibilities extend beyond design, encompassing statutory duties to protect public interests, and a comprehensive understanding of construction and project management.
In 1974, Dr. Goh founded TSP Architects + Planners Pte Ltd, leading numerous large-scale projects across various sectors, including high-rise residential, commercial, educational, infrastructure, institutional, and embassy developments. In 2010, TSP integrated with Ong&Ong Pte Ltd, an 800-person multidisciplinary practice, where Dr. Goh continued to contribute until his formal retirement in July 2021.
Dr. Goh has held several key leadership roles within the architectural community. He was elected to the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) Council from 1991 to 1992 and served as the 15th President of SIA from 1993 to 1996. His international contributions include serving as an Elected Council Member of The International Union of Architects (UIA) from 1999 to 2005 and as Honorary Treasurer of UIA from 2008 to 2011. He also served as a RIBA Council member from 2005 to 2011 and again from 2014 to 2017. Additionally, Dr. Goh was appointed as a Nominated Member of the 9th Parliament of Singapore from 1999 to 2001 by the Republic of Singapore.
On 9 December 2021, alongside Maria Arango and Diego Molina, former colleagues from Ong&Ong, Dr. Goh formally registered ArMo Design Studio Pte Ltd with the Board of Architects (BOA), ushering in a new chapter in his professional journey.
